Hopefully this is some encouragement for someone reading this. I moved into a house with a backyard covered in these. Last July, I decided to burn the entire back yard with a propane torch. I had so little grass that it wasn't worth saving. This year, the grass (Bermuda) grew back great in the spring, but quickly went dormant in May, and now the puncture vines are back. So I hand pulled every single one I could find, followed that with 24D, and now a Prowl pre-emergent today. I'd say that now, after about a month of hand pulling over multiple days, that they're under control. New ones sprout up, but that's why I put down the pre-emergent. I'll continue at it with pre-emergent in September, then two or three applications in the spring before they pop up, likely March, April, and Maybe May if I see any sprouting. Follow that with hand picking and 24D again. Best of luck to everyone else!

I know how to get rid of dyer's woad. It involves a t-shirt and a vat of washing soda. Woad is a potent source of indigo dye. I can't believe you're just going to throw that away!!!

I would like to point out the basic attitude 'produce more' as apposed to harvest a higher percent per acre. What farm does not make $1000 an acre. The average man works for less than $300 a day. One man can cover 300 acres a day killing the females as soon as they immerge. No one will work. Get off the couch and go out in the field with a gun. Stop thinking someone or something is going to fix your problems. How is it we eliminated wolves from 48 states and they have the same reproductive rate as the squirrel but no one seems to be able to hurt the squirrels..?. they simply dont put in the effort. When wolves run form my house to the neighbors I call him and he shoots them as I do. here we have one guy making a big effort and 200 acres a way another guy does nothing... everyone is wasting their time.

What year of growth or at what size growth should you relocate the rooted cuttings to a wide open area? I planted 4 poplar sticks close together for easy watering but they are already growing so quickly I wonder if I should have just planted them the full 25 feet apart right away!

I prefer Turnips and Rutabagas to potatoes. They also make mashed potatoes taste a LOT better. Just another reason to eat butter. Love em.

Sorry, but I feel that liberty longing is way less challenging to the animal. As soon as she is effectively moving on the line, just get rid of it. No Cavesson, no ropes or bridles or halters...just you and your body language, and your horse getting to understand what you are asking her to do.

I'm on my third day of a 3 day fast and I think I'm going to add leek to the beef bone broth soup. I hope it'll taste good. I am very surprised at how easy this fast has been. I have a 3 year old apple tree that had a little bit of fungus growing about 1/2 feet above the soil. During a bad storm the tree broke/bent at that point. The tree seems to still be flowering, but I’m holding it together with grafting tape. Can I graft at this time of the year with a flowering branch or am I just out of luck?
